- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 10, intends to negotiate a commercial sole source contract with the Dictaphone Corporation pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This procurement is to obtain a service contract which will provide maintenance of Dictaphone/PowerScribe hardware/software on equipment located in the Radiology and the Nuclear Medicine Services in VISN 10 facilities. This contract will include: (1) 24-hour by 7 days a week service coverage for both remote and on-site; (2) Software updates; (3) Equipment Repairs; (4) One-hour response for emergency calls; (5) Four-hour response for non-emergency calls; (6) Four-hour response to on-site emergencies. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract. Period of performance will be from April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2009. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all inquiries received within 5 days after issue date of this special notice will be considered by the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and apability. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposal based upon responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
