Description

The National Park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for the operation of two Pack Stations and a Riding Stable at the Cedar Grove, Grant Grove, and Mineral King areas within Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The existing Concession Contract between the National Park Service and the existing Concessioner expires on December 31, 2006 or until such time as a new Concession Contract is awarded, whichever occurs first. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is a preferred Offeror for this Contract because first year sales are projected to be less than $500,000 and the existing Concessioner is a qualified outfitter and guide. The length of the new Contract will be for a term of ten years. Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Concessions Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, California 94607 no later than 64 days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for award of a Concession Contract. The Prospectus will be issued March 6, 2006, for a 64-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on May 9, 2006 no later than 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit cards accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
