Description

Vicksburg Consolidated Contracts Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to BAE Systems, 11487 Sunset Hills Rd, Reston, VA 20190-5234. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Proce dures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. BAE Systems is the sole source that offers the Socet Set software license and maintenance. The Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) currently us es Socet Set and requires an additional license and maintenance. The procurement of other than Socet Set would result in significant costs due to incompatibility, reconfiguration and retraining. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using F AR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 15:30 CST on 7 March 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely wi thin the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to Jack.L .Peterson@mvk02.usace.army.mil with solicitation number referenced in the subject line.
