- Description
- The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 100,252 board feet (1/4-in. international) of standing hardwood sawtimber, and 170 tons of standing hardwood pulpwood on approximately 35 acres at the Raystown Lake Project, Huntington County, P A. Bids shall include the improvement of approximately 2300 of haul road and road entrance stabilization prior to start of work. Bids must also include the purchase, hauling, and placement of 200 tons of 2 A stone to be placed on haul road upon completi on of harvest. In addition, the purchaser will be responsible for the bonding of roads associated with timber harvest operations in the event of damage to township, county, state and private roads. The total number of items for this sale is one (1). Who le tree chipping is not permitted on this sale. The timber must be harvested between April 1, 2006 and April 2, 2007. The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers on Thursday March 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. starting at the Raystown Lake Visitor Center located approximately 4 miles east of Hesston, PA. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., Thursday March 30, 2006, by the Acquisition, Management and Disposal Section, Real Estate Branch, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front St reet, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened, and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Christian Canary, telephone (814) 658-3405 x2858 at the Raystown Lake Project, Huntington County, PA. Terms a nd conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, and a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. This timber will be sold by LUMP SUM sale method.
