Description
The 325th Contracting Squadron at Tyndall AFB FL hereby gives notice of its intention to award a sole source purchase order to George W. Ewell for the repair of one (1) each X-Band Radar Transmitter in accordance with the Performance Work Statement listed below. The acquisition will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This announcement constitutes the only notice. The reference number is F4AE006059A100. The NAICS code for this purchase is 541330 and the size standard is $4.5 million. The closing date for this notice is March 8, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. Central Standard Time. Point of Contact is MSgt Jenetta Langston at (850) 283-8615 or email at jenetta.langston@tyndall.af.mil PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT: REPAIR OF X-BAND RADAR TRANSMITTER 1.0 SCOPE: This Performance Work Statement (PWS) outlines specific tasks that the contractor needs to perform to repair one X-band radar transmitter. The repaired transmitter will be delivered to the Integrated Avionics Test Facility (IATF), Tyndall AFB, Florida. 2.0 TASKS: The following tasks to complete repair of the X-band radar transmitter are outlined below. 2.1 Disassembly and Analysis. The unit will be opened and examined to determine details of the failure and critical construction features. 2.2 Test setup. High voltage dummy load, controller, cooling and waveguide adapters needed for testing will be designed and fabricated incorporating available materials and machinery. 2.3 Transmitter Repair. Machine out the damaged portion of the case and rebuild it. Clean interior and trim damaged parts of the liner shims. Clean up the voltage divider which has arced in the past and remount a voltage divider resistor. Put a G-10 cover over part of the divider. Repair power supply to operate and regulate at 15.2 kV with no evidence of arcing. Repair waveguide switch assembly. If repair is not feasible, the sponsor will be contacted for direction. 2.4 Transmitter test. TWT assemblies will be tested and operated into the high voltage dummy load to verify operation of transmitter. 2.5 Documentation. Summary of repairs done will be provided in a PDF file. 2.6 Pack and Ship. The unit will be packed and shipped back to IATF at Tyndall AFB. 3.0 CONTRACT MONITORING: There is no contract monitoring for this contract. 4.0 ACCEPTANCE: Upon satisfactory completion of services and delivery of one repaired X-band Radar Transmitter, the Government personnel will indicate Government acceptance by properly certifying acceptance of services rendered by the Contractor. 5.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED FACILITIES AND SERVICES: The repair X-band Radar Transmitter will be done at the contractor?s facility.
