- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting Market Research in accordance with FAR Subpart 8.6 to ascertain if there are any commercial sources that can provide products and services that are comparable to those currently being provided to SSA by the Federal Prison Industries (FPI). Therefore, SSA is seeking capability statements and estimated pricing from commercial sources for these products and services as detailed in the attached Request for Information (RFI) document. Capability statements should address your capability to provide the product and services as outlined in the RFI. The attached RFI document includes drawings of two typical SSA workstations and lists of the components FPI uses to create these workstations. Using SSA?s requirements for design, product, installation and follow-up services described in the RFI document, provide your total estimated price per workstation for each of these typical designs. Pricing should address design services, installation services and product prices. Submission of product literature is encouraged. Also, provide information on the costs/prices associated with the services outlined in the RFI, e.g.; centralized management services, design services, and installation services and travel required as part of the services. This is NOT a request for proposals and SSA does not guarantee that a solicitation will be issued as a result of this market research. SSA will not pay for any information submitted. SSA WILL NOT respond to any telephone or email inquiries. Submit your response electronically to the point of contact via the email address specified in this announcement. Product literature that cannot be transmitted electronically should be mailed to the point of contact at the address shown in this announcement. All responses must be received by March 17, 2006.
