- The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-06-RP-0009 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) for Valproic Acid Capsules. The estimated annual usage of Valproic Acid Capsules is 161,169 bottles of 250mg in bottles of 100 each. The estimated quantities listed above are for VA and DoD only. The Bureau of Prison (BoP) and Indian Health Service (IHS) requirements may be forthcoming and will be included in the solicitation once issued. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA and DoD's respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor. Offerors must provide bar code labeling which includes at a minimum the NDC number. In addition, capsules must be compatible with automated dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.). If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. The solicitation will be available on or about the issue date of March 13, 2006. If the solicitation is issued on March 13, 2006 the offers due date will be April 6, 2006, on or before 4:00 pm Central Standard Time.
