- The Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), Acquisition Operations Service, Washington, DC intends to award a sole source contract to Medical Training Solutions, Seattle, Washington, for twenty-four (24) months under FAR 6.302. Medical Training Solutions will provide continuous laboratory study training and risk awareness in a semi-monthly periodical and delivery of online content, with proficiency testing to each of the 167 VA medical centers. The training courses are part of the existing VA Transfusion Safety training programs titled: Ordering and Administering, Specimen Collection, and Testing and Issuance. These training courses will be modified to include the new process for patient and blood product identification using the new bar-coding system (BCE project). Interested parties with the capability to provide the required services should submit a capability statement in writing to the Senior Contract Specialist within then (10) calendar days after initial publication of this notice. Information received will be solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative response is received from another source with ten days, a contract will be negotiated and awarded to Medical Training Solutions. The NAICS code is 621511.
