Description
THE FOLLOWING IS THE LIST OF APHIS-APPROVED PRESSURIZED TRUNK INJECTION DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR THE USDA, APHIS ASIAN LONGHORNED BEETLE (ALB) PROGRAM: (1) ARBORJET VIPER SYSTEM MANUFACTURED BY ARBORJET, INC., AND (2) DAVEY BEETLE BUSTER TREE INJECTOR MANUFACTURED BY THE DAVEY TREE EXPERT COMPANY. For the program 2005, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) Program intends to test pressurized trunk injection delivery systems using specified volumes of Imicide HP (10% imidacloprid, manufactured and distributed by the JJ Mauget Company, Arcadia, California) for potential approval for use in the Asian Longhorned Beetle chemical treatment program. APHIS also intends to evaluate formulations of imidacloprid that currently have U.S. label registration as well as those that are under development. The performance work statement to conduct evaluations of formulations and injection devices and other methodologies to deliver Imicide Hp into or applied to program trees for the Asian Longhorned Beetle Program will posted to this solicitation. APHIS intends to approve pressurized delivery systems and formulations that offer the best value to the ALB program. The approved system or formulation under this trial agreement does not obligate the Government to procure or be construed as a mandatory source. APHIS will list Level I, II and formulation companies that have been approved for use in the USDA, APHIS Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) Program in the government?s point of entry (GPE): www.fedbizopps.gov. PROSPECTIVE VENDORS MUST HAVE AN EXECUTED TRIAL AGREEMENT SIGNED BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER BEFORE REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF THEIR INJECTION SYSTEM/FORMULATION.A sample trial agreement will be posted to the solicitation. Candidate formulations, systems and methodologies must be submitted no later than April 1, 2005 for review and approval for testing by the COR, USDA, APHIS, Pest Survey, Detection and Exclusion Laboratory.
