- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to the USCGC FINBACK (WPB-87314). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about March 24, 2006. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all request vie e-mail to Arlene.V.Woodley@uscg.mil It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is Cape May, NJ. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 days with a start date on or about July 10, 2006. The scope of the acquisition is for (1)dry docking (2)welding repairs (3) clean and inspect fuel and waste oil tanks (4) clean sewage and grey water collection holding tanks (5) realign main engine/reduction gear (6) remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shafts (7) repair shaft; straighten shaft (8) inspect water-lubricated shaft bearings (9) remove, inspect and reinstall propellers (10) perform minor repair and recondition of propeller (11) preserve transducer hull ring (12) overhaul and renew valves (13) remove, inspect, and reinstall rudder assemblies (14) preserve forward peak compartment (15) install slip resistant sheets on main deck surface (16) preserve RIB wet notch deck and stern door interior surfaces (17) preserve underwater body (18) preserve freeboard (19) renew cathodic protection system (20) renew transducer fairing (21) routine drydocking (22) provide temporary logistics (23) inspect hull plating (24) renew main diesel engine exhaust concentric rings. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
