Description
Work consists of replacing the existing station service compressed air supply system and a Motor Control Center (MCC) at McNary Lock and Dam. Two temporary compressed air supply systems will be installed and operated during the replacement of the ex isting compressed air supply system. The temporary compressed air supply systems will be removed after the new station service compressed air supply system installation is complete. The temporary compressed air supply systems will consist of: 60 HP rota ry screw air compressors, filters, refrigerated air dryers, receivers, oil / water separators for condensate disposal, compressed air lines, and all associated accessories and appurtenances. Replacement of the existing station service compressed air suppl y system will include: removal and disposal of existing 125 HP piston air compressors, compressed air and cooling water lines, valves, compressed air receivers, refrigerated air dryer, electrical power and control systems, and appurtenances; furnishing an d installing two 125 HP rotary screw air compressors, filters, refrigerated air dryers, receivers, oil / water separator for condensate disposal, valves, compressed air lines, cooling water lines, electrical power and control systems, and all associated ac cessories and appurtenances. Discharge full load operating pressure of 125 psig. All air compressors will be rated for 125 psig full load operating pressure. The MCC is a 480 V, 60 Hz, 3PH, 3W. Its main bus is rated at 1200A, 65k AIC, with main 600A (t rip) breaker. The enclosure for the MCC consists of four sections, 90 in. H x 80 in. W x 21 in. D, NEMA type 1 gasketed. A temporary power supply will be installed by the contractor to keep essential power supplied to equipment that is connected to the e xisting MCC while it is replaced. The temporary power supply will be removed after the new MCC is installed.This project is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code is 333912. Small business size standard is 500 employees. This announ cement is a synopsis only. Details of the project are contained in the solicitation. Expected issue date of solicitation is on or about March 17, 2006. Solicitation will be posted on FedTeds site. Bids will be opened no earlier than 30 calendar days aft er date the solicitation is issued. Site visit information will be contained in the solicitation.
