- Description
- This requirement is for integration and development of a Type I encryption hardware solution to mate the Aircraft Wireless Intercom System (AWIS) to the HGU-56P helmut, as well as to the hard-wired intercom systems for Blackhawk and Chinook. Data de liverables under this contract include all National Security Agency (NSA) security verification test plans and reports required to achieve certification, technical manuals and training documentation, bench test hardware, pre-production hardware for aircraf t integration and testing. Test requirements include hardware reliability, electromagnetic interference and compatibility, environmental compliance, environmental stress screening, and functional testing. The AWIS is planned for fielding as an encrypted sustem starting in FY2010 on the CH-47D and UH-60A/L Blackhawk helicopters. The AWIS is a proprietary nondevelopmental item. The unencrypted AWIS was competitively awarded to Telephonics Corporatoion and successfully tested and accpted by the US Governme nt. The technical data package and design is owned by Telephonics Corporation. Thsi requirement is sole ource to Telephonics Corporation.
