Description
The National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, intends to negotiate only with the Neptune Sciences Division of Planning Systems, Inc. (PSI) of Reston, Virginia, for the low rate initial production of the Advanced Modular Payload System (AMPS). AMPS is a datalogger that acquires, processes, and relays directional wave spectral data, meteorological data, and data from a variety of new environmental sensor suites. On June 14, 2005, NDBC awarded the design of AMPS to PSI. NDBC intends to modify this award to include a very limited production of AMPS for the express purpose of identifying and correcting errors that may be present in the technical data package. Once this action is complete, NDBC intends to compete full production of AMPS. See Numbered Notes 22.
