Description

Project consists of mechanical site preparation by disc trenching on an estimated 453 acres of logged National Forest land by use of a crawler tractor or skidder. The work areas are located within the boundaries of the Superior National Forest, LaCroix Ranger District, St. Louis County, Minnesota. If the tractor used for the disc trench is a crawler type, it should be equipped with track pads having grousers in good condition. If the tractor used for the disc trencher is of a skidder type, it must have at least two tire chains. These tire chains will be used unless it can be shown that operation is just as effective without them. Desired date for starting work is September 1, 2006 with a contract performance period of 75 calendar days. This time includes final cleanup of the premises. A small business concern is defined as a firm whose gross annually revenues do not exceed 6 million when averaged over a three year period.
