- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE February 2006 -This serves as a "Notice of Intent" to issue a purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Amptek Inc, of Bedford, MA on a Sole Source basis to purchase a MD-501 Channel Electron Multiplier Detector used to calibrate VSBXR's Electron and Ion beams. This document incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2001-24 effective 19 Jul 04. The Government intends to award a contract for the following line items or equal: 4 MD-501 Channel Electron Multiplier Detectors. MD-501 Channel Electron Multiplier Detectors are commercial items from Amptek, Inc. FOB: DESTINATION. Inspection and acceptance: DESTINATION. This requirement is determined to be available from only one source because of the unique features and proprietary nature of the system. No formal request will be issued for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All potential offerors should contact the buyer identified in this notice for additional information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition.
