Description
NIST seeks information on commercially available automated people counting systems. NIST may procure such people counting systems after results of this market research are obtained and analyzed and specifications are developed after a determination is made regarding which people counting systems can meet NIST's minimum requirements. The system shall be capable of reporting the following characteristics of pedestrian traffic: 1. Individual building occupants counted as discrete entities, as a function of time, measured in seconds. 2. Direction of movement. 3. Discriminate between single person flow, two-abreast, three-abreast flow, and bi-directional flow. 4. Flow through a door. 5. Flow up or down a stairwell. The system shall be portable for remote deployment, easily mountable within or to typical office building environments and materials, have modest power requirements, be robust enough to withstand modest impact, and provide secure, long-term storage of collected data. Collected data shall be output in a form amenable for analysis by Windows PC software. Companies that manufacture or sell commercially available automated people counting systems are requested to email detailed specifications for such commercially available system(s) to todd.hill@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. Specifications shall include detailed functional and performance capabilities for the people counting system. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name of the company that manufactures the people counting system for which specifications are provided. 2. Name of company(ies) that are authorized to sell the people counting system, their addresses, and a point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 3. Indication of number of days, after receipt of order that is typical for delivery of such systems. 4. Indication of whether each instrument for which specifications are sent to todd.hill@nist.gov are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and, if so, the GSA FSS contract number(s). 5. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications.
