Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items provided in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be used. Solicitation number is W911RZHSSHOE. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation documents incorporate provisions and clauses are those in effect trhrough Federal Acquisition Circular 05-08. The propsed contract will be 100% set-aside for Small Business. For this acquisition, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 115210 and the small business size standard is $6 Million. This requirement is for the shoeing of horses belonging to the U.S. Army Mounted Color Guard (MCG) stationed at Turkey Creek Ranch, Ft. Carson, CO. The contractor shall provide labor, equipment tools, and any other items necessary to deliver farrier servic es every 6 to 8 weeks, or as needed. The horses to be shod currently include 14 MCGuard horses used for drill team performances and ceremonies. The specific shoeing needs of these horses vary based on their conformation, unique uses, and in the case of 4 MCG mounts, early arthritic changes including but not limited to navicular disease. The MCG horses are to be shod using toe clips and hot shoeing. A description of the above mentioned horses and their current shoeing program is included in the solicitatio n package. There is a mandatory site visit on March 8, 2006 at 1:30p.m. located at Turkey Creek Ranch (15300 Turkey Creek Lane, Fort Carson, CO 80913).
