Description
Mission Descriptions Bechtel Nevada Corporation is looking for sources to provide helicopter services to perform very high resolution surveys at a nominal altitude above ground level (AGL) of 50 feet, with parallel line spacing of 75 feet (+/- 15 feet), at a ground speed of 40 to 60 nautical miles per hour (knots). Surveys are conducted at 150 feet AGL, line spacing of 250 feet (+/- 50 feet), at a ground speed of 60 to 80 knots. These survey parameters are typical for populated areas. Surveys occur anywhere within the continental United States. Mission Schedules Survey missions will be scheduled 1 month prior to activity. A minimum of two full days preparation of a previously interfaced helicopter are required for ground and flight tests of the installed acquisition system prior to beginning a survey. Flight activities will range from 1 week to 3 months Mission Personnel Subcontractor shall include two pilots and a helicopter mechanic. Contractor shall supply an equipment operator (who would always fly) and a mission manager (who might occasionally fly). Aircraft and Support Requirements The aircraft must be dual engine, capable of safely operating with the specific Subcontractor equipment (weight, power, etc.), Subcontractor personnel, and flight parameters. The aircraft should be able to conduct a nominal mission of at least 2.5 hours between refueling. Preferable aircraft are the Bell 412 helicopters for these surveys. To be acceptable for this survey activity, the Subcontractor aircraft would have to have FAA certified Globalstar and GPS external antenna installations and an interface to the aircraft Radar Altitude. NATO/FAA-certified hard points (for detector mounting) would have to be provided on the aircraft. Aircraft power must be available for powering the customer system. All equipment installation and flight testing shall be conducted prior to qualifying the Subcontractor to verify that all systems operate properly in the proposed rental aircraft. NOTE: Sources shall provide points of contact, type of aircraft to be supplied, and Statement of Qualifications that include but are not limited to the ability to meet all of the above requirements. These qualifications are due no later than Close of Business on March 7, 2006
