Description

The U.S. Secret Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Winchester Division of Olin Corporation for ammunition to acquire 600 rounds of 5.56 M-855 62 grain full metal jacket cartridges. Due to the level of need, award of a purchase order will be made on February 24, 2006 and delivery is required within 30-days of award. . The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 Circumstances permitting other than full and open competition. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement on a full and open competitive basis upon receipt of responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No formal solicitation package is available. Any inquires must include a full capability statement and must be received not later than three (3) days after publication of this synopsis. Any inquiries must identify the vendor?s ability to meet the delivery schedule as stated herein. The Government will not be responsible for any costs in preparation of responses to this announcement.
