- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR HIGH VOLTAGE HYBRID VARIABLE AMPLIFIERS FOR PRECISE CONTROL OF PZT PIEZOACTUATORS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purposes of this amendment are to provide additional instructions for submitting a quote in response to this synopsis/RFQ. These instructions are: Each company that submits a quote of an equivalent other than ScienLab SL360/005HA must submit the specifications for the equivalent to Erica.D.Carter-1@nasa.gov by the due date for submission of quotes (currently, not later than 3:00pm CST February 22,2006). In addition, this amendment is to provide questions and answers: Question 1. Can the output of the amplifier be "floating" (meaning that it is not referenced to earth electrical ground)? Answer: The nature of our specification dictates it is "floating" and that it is a "bi-polar" variable output, proportional to the input (Current and/or Voltage) signal. Question 2. Is additional output current beyond the stated requirement desirable? Answer: No, the amplifier output currently specified is driven by the macro-fiber composite piezo actuators which have a specific voltage, capacitive load and current operating range and facilitates electrical protection of those actuators. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) by 3:00pm CST February 22, 2006. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
