- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Newport, RI proposes a sole source fixed price procurement to ARRAID, Inc., Fairfax Station, VA for the following: 1) 9 ea. SEC1MK660M, MK660 Test Station; 2) 12 ea. DRM-45, SCSI Disk Drive without CARRIER; 3) 6 ea. SECMK660KIT, Field Upgrade KIT to Convert SEC1 to Metal Drive Bays; 4) 11 ea. DRM-45R, SCSI Disk Drive in CARRIER (without power control). The basis for the sole source is that magnetic media (disks and tapes) utilized by the Mk 660 ADCAP Automatic Test Equipment need to be upgraded. The specified ARRAID system is compatible with this legacy equipment; it meets the requirements of the Mk 660 ATE which require media controllers compatible with the BAA23 QBus chassis, the MicroVAX II computer, and are supported by the VMS 4.7 operating system. The solicitation is expected to be released no earlier than 21 FEB 2006. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
