- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to procure Helmet Mounted Sight and Display Systems (HMSDs) for the UH-1Y aircraft. The HMSDs will be purchased from Thales Avionics, 25 Rue Jules Vedrines, Valence, France, the sole manufacturer of the HMSDs, under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement with Thales Avionics. The contractor shall perform manufacturing and logistics work necessary to furnish 14 each of the following equipment for the UH-1Y model aircraft: Cockpit Tracker Module (P/N: C19226DA); Connector Module (P/N: C19225CA); Electronics Unit (P/N: C19224DA01); Ventilated Mounting Tray (P/N: C19613AA); Connection Module Cable (P/N: C19612AA); and Options for up to 14 each of the Basic Helmet (standard P/N: C19228DA, large P/N: C19632DA) and Helmet Mounted Sight Display Modules (P/N: C19227EA). This requirement will be procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), in that Thales Avionics is the only responsible source and no other type of equipment will satisfy Marine Corps requirements.
