Description
CONTRACTING OFFICE ADDRESS: Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Contracting Division, 110 9th Avenue South, Room A-604, Nashville, TN 37203. DESCRIPTION OF PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the acquisition of services for replacement of parallel, high speed gear boxes for the miter gate machinery and segmental valve machinery at Ft. Loudon Lock (FLL), Kentucky Lock (KYL), Nickajack Lock (NICL), and Watts Bar Lock (WBL) in accordance with the plans and specifications. The contractor will be required to provide an installation plan to replace the existing gear boxes, an installation schedule, and a price. The contractor shall be responsible for delivery to the site the new gearboxes with all administrative requirements specified in the technical specifications. A final factory acceptance test must be performed at the factory before the project i s considered complete. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for February 22, 2006, 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, for contractors to visit one of the four sites and all documents and equipment. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract based on best value. The contractor will be evaluated on their (1) technical capability (installation plan and schedule), (2) costs, and (3) past performance. Interested parties should be registered in the Ce ntral Contractor Register at www.ccr.gov to be considered for award. The solicitation documentation for this requirement will be available on or about March 1, 2006. PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING: A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for February 22, 2006, 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time at the Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Western Kentucky Area, Kentucky Lock, 265 Kentucky Lock Road, Grand Rivers, Kentucky, 42045. SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS: Specifications and drawings will be provided on site at the mandatory pre-proposal meeting on February 22, 2006. DELIVERY: The contractor will be responsible for delivering the supplies and services to the respective lock not later than August 23, 2006. The duration of the project is approximately 6 months from contract award date.
