Description

The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, equipment and incidental supplies necessary to construct Stony Appalachian Trail Bridge located on the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, New River Valley Ranger District, Giles County, Virginia. The work includes construction of a wooden bridge that will consist of an approximately 70 ft span supported by Glu-lam stringers with 3-in. thick decking. Access to the bridge will consist of stairs on one end and an accessible ramp (approximately 100 ft. length) on the other. Approximately 70 ft. of the accessible ramp will be elevated while the remainder will be at ground level with wooden cribbing to provide grade. The bridge and elevated portions of the access features will be founded on concrete piers. The bridge and all access facilities will include wooden guardrails. Work includes clearing and grubbing, treatment methods 4 and 10; removal of structures; minor structure excavation and backfill; treated structural timber and lumber; concrete method A; and seeding, dry method with mulch. The project will be solicited using the Request for Quotation format. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $25,000 and $100,000. Successful quoters are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database or award cannot be made. You may register at the CCR website at www.ccr.gov. This solicitation will also be available on this website on or around March 3, 2006.
