- The Program Manager for Ammunition, Marine Corps Systems Command desires the acquisition of a commercial off-the-shelf, non-developmental, NATO-qualified 40mm Low Velocity High Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP) cartridge for use in the M203 Grenade Launcher. It is desired that the contractor: 1) Have a non-developmental warhead with a high penetration capability against a variety of targets plus a high fragmentation effect; 2) Have a non-developmental self-destruct fuzing mechanism that meets the requirements of MIL-STD-1316E or STANAG 3525 Specifications; 3) Have existing production tooling/line capable of producing a minimum of 50,000 cartridges within 90 days of contract award; and 4) Have the technical expertise and facilities to conduct standard Lot Acceptance Testing prior to delivery.
