- The U. S. Department of the Interior, National Business Center, on behalf of Air Force, Office of Special Investigation, Andrews Air Force Base, intends to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to Computer Projects of Illinois, INC (CPI). Specifically, AFOSI has the need for Computer Projects of Illinois (CPI) proprietary software Open Fox for law enforcement message switching systems technology that will facilitate information collection of Air Force Office of Special Investigation (AFOSI) agents using the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). The NCIC system provides a computerized database, and uses Open Fox for access by a criminal justice agency making an inquiry and for prompt disclosure of information in the system from other criminal justice agencies about crimes and criminals. This information assists authorized agencies in criminal justice and related law enforcement objectives, such as apprehending fugitives, locating missing persons, locating and returning stolen property, as well as in the protection of the law enforcement officers encountering the individuals described in the system. This announcement is published as a Sole Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received by 3:00 p.m. EST February 24th, 2006 will be considered by the Government. The anticipated award date is March 10, 2006.
