- The Department of Commerce, NOAA, National Weather Service has a requirement for routine & emergency maintenance for NOAA Weather Radio Transmitters located at Frisco Peak, Logan Peak, Asphalt Ridge, Utah Hill, Bald Mesa & Barney Top, UT. Requirement will also include vault and tower space for NWS transmitters located at Frisco Peak, Logan Peak, Asphalt Ridge & Barney Top, UT; maintaining UHF links between WSFO SLC & UDOT; providing microwave service, etc. NOAA, NWS intends to award this contract on a sole source basis to the State of Utah DAS/DIT in Salt Lake City, UT. The State of Utah has qualified, licensed, radio technicians in or near the area where the transmitters are located which enables rapid response. Also, the State of Utah radio technicians have equipment specific training on NWS, NOAA Weather Radio transmitter system. Therefore it is in NOAAs opinion that the State of Utah is the only vendor capable of effectively completing these tasks. All responsible parties may bid. This is a simplified acquisition, expected not to exceed $100,000.00.
