- The University of Vermont has developed an immunoassay by which plasma tissue factor (TF) concentration can be measured simultaneously with non-specific binding in a single reaction well and where the reference standard curves are generated by spikin g recombinant TF (rTF) in TF immunodepleted plasma (NIH Project Grant No.HL 46703;unpublished data). These assays are highly specific and reproducible. Their immunoassay detects full length TF (1-263), truncated TF ( 1-218) and (1-242) as well as monocy te and placenta expressed TF. It utilizes anti-TF monoclonal antibody (mAb) clone 5 for capturing and detection of TF. This binding is then detected using a biotinylated probe, anti-TF mAb clone 48 and phycoerythrin-streptavidin. The mAb is produced and ch aracterized in the Antibody Core Facility at the University of Vermont and is not commercially available.
