Description
In support of the Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) Program and on behalf of the Program Manager - Mobile Electric Power (PM-MEP), the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM), Communication and Electronics, RD&E Center (CERD EC), Command and Control Directorate (C2D), Army Power Division, Power Generation Branch, Fort Belvoir, VA is performing a market survey for a commercially available engine that operates on DF2 and JP-8 liquid fuels. The PM-MEP is searching for an engine suitable for potential use in a 3 kW generator set. The engine shall meet the following minimum requirements: provide 2kW to 4kW at 95 ?F, 4000 ft above sea level, sustain operation between -25 ?F to 140 ?F at all leve ls of humidity, operate at altitudes up to 10,000ft with an acceptable reduction in output rating of 3% per 1,000ft above 4,000ft, operate between 1000 to 3600 RPM, and operate on DF2 and JP-8 liquid fuels. The CERDEC Power Generation Branch is interested in obtaining White Papers not exceeding 10 pages in length describing the contractors experience in design, development, fabrication and test of engines, detailed specifications of engines, and a Rough Orde r of Magnitude (ROM) unit cost for potential future government procurements. The data received in response to this RFI is for information purposes only and does not mandate or impose requirements. It is desirable that data be received with unlimited rights to the Government. However, we recognize that proprietary data may be includ ed with the information provided. If so, clearly mark such proprietary information and clearly separate it from the unrestricted information as an addendum. All responses to this market research shall be submitted within 45 calendar days of the date of thi s announcement.
