Description
Services of an Architectural or Engineering firm with specialized experience in design and construction of mechanical projects supporting a 24/7 healthcare organization to participate in site investigation, design, preparation of working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project 596-06-105, REPLACE COOLING TOWERS, LD at VA Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Project involves replacement of two cooling towers (two oldest of three) and replacement of one chiller (oldest of three). Estimated construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Project will be accomplished in AutoCad .dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in Microsoft Word .doc format. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 100 miles radius of VAMC, Lexington, KY, and is open to both large and small business concerns, in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. North American Industry Classification (NAICS) No. 541330, with a size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. Interested firms, with required specialization, must submit three (3) copies of Standard Form 330, Architect-Engineer qualifications, to the issuing office no later than 2:00 p.m. EST March 13, 2006. (Fed-ex or hand-carried submissions to be delivered to VA Medical Center, Attn: Angie Napier (90C), Bldg. 2, Rm. 206, 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511). Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type; ability to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; past performance on contracts for projects of similar type; team proposed for this project; previous experience of proposed team; project control (design schedule control and quality assurance reviews of submission documents); and estimating effectiveness. Note: each of these specific review items shall be addressed on the qualifications packages submitted. This is NOT a Request for Proposals. No solicitation package will be issued.
