- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), intends to award a sole source bridge contract to Wackenhut Services, Incorporated, 7121 Fairway Drive, Suite 301 Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418-3766 for guard service at the Nebraska Avenue Complex. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (d) (1) (B) and 41 U.S.C. 253 (d) (1) (B) per FAR 6.302-1 (2) (ii) (B). This is an interim action intended to ensure continuity of guard service by providing a temporary bridge contract. The period of performance will be for 90 days with two (2) sixty days options. The bridge contract will allow for a continuation of the services that were provided under Navy Contract: N62477-00-D-0043. Services under this contract are to provide and maintain all management, supervision, manpower, training, equipment, supplies, licenses, permits, certificates, insurance, pre-employment screenings, reports, and files necessary to accomplish security guard services. The guard service is critical to FPS to achieve its mission. It is in the best interest of DHS, FPS to have the aforementioned services performed without threat of disruption in service. It is crucial that the incumbent contractor continue performing guard service until a new contract is awarded. This notice is neither a request for quotation nor a solicitation for offers.
