Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR ULTRASONIC PART CLEANER. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to Answer questions asked before the due date. 1. Question: What is the Ultrasonic Frequency (s) the end user wants to run? Answer: 10K peek watts @ 40kHz 2. Question: How do they want the transducers mounted - all on the bottom of the tank? sides and bottom - any special transducer arrangement? Answer: Mount the transducers on bottom 3. Question: The tank - do they want one, two three or four sided over flow weir? Flow to the back side or front>? Answer: One sided overflow weir to front. 4. Question: What is the temperature operating range? Answer: Operating range ambient to 210?F. 5. Question: Do you require 3rd party inspections or certs? Answer: No third party inspection or cert required. 6.Question: What is the operating temp of the tank and expected heat up time. Answer: Ambient to 210?F with in 3 hours. 7. Question: Do they really want 10,000 watts of U/S power, typically for a tank this size we would recommend around 4,000 watts. Answer: 10,000 peek watts @ 40kHz. 8. Question: What are they trying to clean? Answer: Stainless Steel Hoses, valves, fixtures and coldplate. 9. Question: What chemistry will they be using to wash parts? Answer: Something biodegradable, not sure exactly what yet. 10. Question: Are they sure about single phase power. Usually a system of this size would be three phase. Answer: Single phase or 3 phase, we have both available in this facility. 11. Question: What do they plan on using the spray bar and where would it be located. Same with the weir Answer: Spray bar and weir to be located at the top of the bath on the end. 12. Question: What is the micron retention for the filters. As I stated, 35 GPM will have an adverse affect on ultrasonics, they may want a large pump for the contents of tank but there will be too much turbulence in the tank. Answer: This is to the be determined upon use. 13. Question: The overall dimensions are given as 78" x 29: x 34" height are the ultrasonic generators contained within these dimensions? Answer: Yes. 14. Question: we are not sure if it is possible to get 35 GPM through dual filters. assuming the dual filters are 20" cartridges. What size filers are required? This type of system would typically use 20 micron filters and a 15 or 20 GPM filtration system A: Use whatever size filters that is required to get 35 gpm. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 2/3/2006.
