Description
The General Services Administration (GSA), Northeast Caribbean Region is pleased to announce that a SMALL BUSINESS NETWORKING SESSION will be held for the Infrastructure Upgrade of the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse located at 40 Centre Street, New York, NY. This session will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at 290 Broadway, 30th floor, Room #2, New York, N.Y. The session will be attended by representatives of GSA, the Small Business Administration, and the two general contractors working through a selection process with GSA. The purpose of this session will be to give the small business community, including Small, Small-Disadvantaged, Women-Owned Small, HUBZone Small, Veteran-Owned Small and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business concerns an opportunity to learn more about this prestigious project, as well as to network and introduce themselves to the two general contractors presently working with GSA on this project. An award to one general contractor is expected to take place in July of this year. If you are a large business subcontractor who may be bidding on this project at the 1st Tier level, and your subcontract is expected to exceed $1,000,000, you will be required to subcontract work to the small business community. You are welcome to attend this session. This will be a good opportunity to meet interested small business firms. Please contact the individuals listed below if you would like to attend. The project will contain the following work items: Fire protection systems: selective upgrade and expansion; Replacement and Upgrade of the Electrical power distribution/grounding system/lighting systems; Complete replacement of the Emergency power system; Complete Replacement and Upgrade of all components o the HVAC systems; Domestic water / sanitary storm water systems: substantial replacement of floor-by-floor distribution piping; Freight elevator: extension down to basement; Public restrooms: selective modernization (to include ADA compliance where possible); Telephone/data systems: replacement of existing infrastructure with a new fiber optic backbone and distribution system; Building security screening features and security systems: interior and exterior upgrades. Tower pyramidal roof: complete repairs, replacements, repointing, reflashing, and resealing; Building setbacks, areaways, gutters, ledge flashings, roof drains and leaders: complete repairs/reconstruction, replacements, relining, reflashing and resealing; Primary flat roofs (over 6th floor and two courtyards): complete replacement, reflashing and paver installation (loose laid); Windows: complete repairs to operations and locking systems; Masonry walls at facades, parapets, courtyards and mechanical penthouses: complete repairs, repointing, resealing, reflashing, and cleaning of entire fa?ade; Bulk demolition and removal of hazardous materials; Building Management System: upgrade and expansion; Existing non-historic infill construction in corridors and lobbies: removal of existing build-outs and restoration with historically appropriate materials; Interior space repairs: incidental to MEP infrastructure work and projected US Courts? housing plan growth. Freight/loading dock: selective upgrades to expand interior delivery and screening areas. Mailroom: selective alterations and upgrade to meet new standards.
