Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services intends to negotiate with only one responsible source, Sterling Commerce (America) Inc., 13665 Dulles Technology Drive, Suite 130, Herndon, VA 20171-4607, using simplified acquisition procedures, for the acquisition of Sterling Commerce Connect: Direct UNIX software for the Teradata application. Teradata must exchange data with the CMS mainframe system and Connect: Direct is the CMS standard for enterprise file transfer. The proposed contractor has proprietary rights to the software application and it must interact with Connect: Direct running on the CMS mainframe and is only available from Sterling Commerce. The Government intends to negotiate with only one responsible source pursuant to the authority of Part 6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Therefore, this notice is not a request for a submission. However, interested parties may submit a description of their capabilities to perform within 5 days of this notice and the submission will be considered.
