The solicitation will be released on or about 1 March 2006 with proposals due on or about 1 Ap ril 2006. The governments estimate is for 73 contractor employees to be phased-in at the locations listed in the paragraph below on or about 1 January 2007. At this time, it is expected that the contracting approach will be for a full and open competit ive procurement. The types of work will include engineering support services, logistics services, safety, security, and administrative support. The scope of work is included below: The contractor shall provide personnel to augment the 160th Signal Brigade within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of the Central Command (CENTCOM), which is roughly defined as being located in Southwest Asia, Central Asia and Africa. The contractor shall provide all management and personnel required to perform the Brigade and Battalion staff augmentation. Current locations to be supported are the 160th Signal Brigade located at Arifjan, Kuwait; the 25th Signal Battalion, Qatar (with elements forward-depl oyed to Afghanistan); and the 54th Signal Battalion at Camps Arifjan, Virginia and Buehring, Kuwait. The contractor shall also augment and support military forces during exercises and contingency missions; if the contractor workforce has to be increased, i t will be handled under the Changes Clause.
