- The VA VISN 22 Network 22 Logistics Office, Long Beach California intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source procurement with Endocardial Solutions, Inc. 1350 Energy Lane, Suite 110 Saint Paul, MN 55108-5254 under the authority of FAR 6.302.2. An unusual and compelling urgency precludes full and open competition and delay in award of a contract would result in serious injury, financial or other, to the Government. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-06. The NAICS Code is 334510 and the small business size standard is considered 500 employees. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. Request for Quotation is RFQ 600-537-06IM. This procurement is to obtain medical supplies for the VA San Diego Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Lab located at the Department of Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System 3350 La Jolla Village Dr. San Diego, CA 92161. Item no. EC1000, five (5) each Endocardial Ensite Array Catheter. Item no. EN0010, five (5) each Ensite NAVX Surface Electrode Kit. The medical supplies requested for purchase (Endocardial Ensite Array Catheters and NavX electrodes) are absolutely critical in order for our EP staff to adequately perform patient mapping and atrial fibrillation ablation procedures. These supplies are only manufactured by Endocardial Solutions and are the only type compatible with the En-site Endocardial electrophysiology system. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. All interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit a proposal. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government will consider all proposals received by 1:00 PM Pacific Standard time February 8, 2006. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
