- This is a synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6 as supplemented, with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be provided. A written solicitation package will NOT be issued and any request for solicitation package will NOT be acknowledged. This synopsis will serve as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) PBGC01-RQ-06-0078which seeks written proposals for the type of maintenance outlined herein. The NAICS Code applicable811212. Services are being solicited and awarded as a commercial item in accordance with FAR 13.5. Written response to this synopsis should be received within 5 business days of this announcement, and should include sufficient documentation to establish capability to fulfill the requirement. Questions related to this notice shall be submitted in writing no later then 2 business days. The following provisions/clauses are applicable to this solicitation: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items, FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representation and Certifications-Commercial items, FAR 52.212-4, Contract terms and conditions- Commercial Items and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders- Commercial Items. Offerors shall submit a completed copy of provision 52.212-3 with the proposal to be considered for award. Copies of the above provisions/clauses are available upon written request. The contractor shall provide hardware maintenance for the base period of February 15, 2005 - December 31, 2005. In addition to the performance period identified above the contractor SHALL propose four (4) one-year option periods for the continued maintenance of the identified hardware. The Offerors proposed price must be submitted on a monthly basis for the base period as well as the four (4) option periods. The Contractor shall propose scheduled preventative maintenance, 4 hour on-site response and on-call remedial maintenance during the PPM provided through remote and/or on-site support. Maintenance Support for 2 Optical Storage and Retrieval Devices: 1.) OSAR 107, S/N #30577 (four drives) located in Wilmington, DE, with coverage Monday - Friday 7am-7pm. 2.) OSAR 107, S/N 90187 (six drives) located in Washington DC, with coverage 24 x 7 3.) In lieu of applying FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items to this acquisition, the maintenance proposed will be evaluated to confirm compliance with the PBGC maintenance required stated herein. Award will be made to the technically acceptable offeror who proposes the lowest price. Invoices may be presented monthly in arrears.
