- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA) to develop tribal capacity to identify and collect motor vehicle crash, traffic and roadway data. This project will offer assistance to the three (3) involved in the Arizona demonstration project. In 2004, ITCA completed a Model and developed a proposal for testing the Model with tribal governments. The purpose of the model process and guidelines was to improve the Tribes? abilities to identify hazardous highway locations, sections and elements; and to develop and prioritize projects. FHWA proposes to implement the Model with 3 Tribes nationwide, and to the Arizona, Department of Transportation (ADOT) to test the Model with 3 Tribes statewide. Because of ITCA?s previous work on the Model involving FHWA, tribes, and other entities, they are uniquely qualified and the only available source to provide the required services. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about February 17, 2006.
