- Description
- The Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) has a requirement for a Tandem Converter Dolly in support of their Optics Program. Specifications for the dolly are as follows: Frame: Formed full-length steel rails and crossmembers at rated 80 ksi yield strength. Crossmembers and end-of-frame crossmember ramp are replaceable. Hinged drawbar measures 98" from center of eye to center of axle. Lunette drawbar eye is rubber-mounted in a steel shock housing. Drawbar is set for 34" hitch height. Fifth Wheel: Holland fifth wheel with 36" cast steel table, 48" unladen height and roadside release handle. Axle: Meritor TN-4671 forward axle with ABS wheel rear sensors. Meritor TN-4670 rear axle. 71 1/2" track for 96" wide trailer. Hubs: Cast steel hubs for ten disc wheels and outboard-mount cast steel brake drums. Suspension: Equalizing tandem suspension with 49" axle centers and 34,000 lb capacity. Four-inch wide two-stage springs with modified parabolic tapered second stage leaf. Rubber block-mounted spring eyes and axle-aligning spring seats without radius rods. Brakes: 16 1/2"x7" Meritor Q series S-Cam brakes with non- asbestos lining and Anti-Lock Brake System. Type 30 service chambers and 5 1/2" automatic slack adjusters. Paint: Frame is steel grit-blasted and treated with an eleven-stage cathodic electrodeposition epoxy primer (E-Coat). Standard top coat is Dupont Gray Centari Acrylic Enamel. Air system: ABS relay, emergency and pressure protection valves. Electrical System: Lamps: two 12 volt, rubber grommet mounted 4" round stop and tail lamps. Harness: ABS sealed modular harness with rear trailer lead and replaceable receptacle. Light Cord: heavy-duty 12' straight cable. Tires: Goodyear G114 295/75R22.5 low profile steel radial, load range G. Wheel: 22.5"x8.25"steel disc wheels, 10 stud ball seat mount. Prepainted white enamel. Misc: Jack: Pivoting jack with swivel caster. Mud Flaps: Black plastic flaps mounted on removable hangers. Registration holder: Watertight lexan document holder mounted on frame. License: License plate mounting surface on frame, pre-drilled for standard plate. Weight: 5200 lbs.
