Description

The U. S. Department of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/ National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Services/Office of Systems Development, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Microcom Design Inc. Hunt Valley, MD, in accordance with the authority of 41 U. S. C. 253 ( c ) ( 1 ), to provide the following Ucom DAMSNT Digi-Trak chassis consisting of: Chassis with dual Power Supplies 2 ea., DAMSNY Digi-Trak Demodulator 80 ea., Motherboards 20 ea., Input interface Modules 2 ea., DAPS Sync/Async Interface 4 ea., Pilot Interface Module (70 MHZ IF in with 5MHZ IF out) 1 ea.. A formal Request for Quotation is not available. Microcom Design Inc. has been the designer of this equipment and has modified the interface to the present DCS Automated Processing System. (DAPS II), and is the only know Vendor capable of providing this product that will interface to the existing DAPS II.. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. Offerors certain they can meet the requirement are requested to submit in writing an affirmative response and technical capabilities. All written responses must include a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information demonstrating their ability to meet the above requirements. Failure to submit such documentation will result in the government proceeding as stated above. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Affirmative written responses must be received no later then 15-days after publication of this synopsis. All information in response to this notification must be submitted in writing to the attention of Sally Huber, Contract Specialist. Note 22 applies
