Description
This is a Request for Information and Sources Sought notice to identify qualified sources that provide food service products for governmental, commercial or industrial locations. The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center is located in Bethesda, Maryland and is the center for clinical research. The hospital has more than 5,000 rooms which includes 19 patient units, and 15 outpatient clinics. The Nutrition Department is part of this vast facility within the National Institutes of Health and supplies the food services for the hospital. There is an interest in locating vendors who can supply the various products and services needed to adequately deliver the food products to the facility. A LISTING OF THE VARIOUS FOOD PRODUCTS SHALL BE PROVIDED PER EMAIL NOTIFICATION TO dbritton@cc.nih.gov FOR THOSE SOURCES INTERESTED IN SUBMITTING A RESPONSE. This is not a request for proposals or quotes and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 722310. The capability qualifications should address the following: 1) Delivery availability ? Monday through Friday; what implementation plan is used during disasters, both external and internal, inclement weather etc; 2) Typical lag time between ordering and delivery; 3) Set/guaranteed delivery times; 4) Return policy, pickup, mis-pulls, out of stocks; 5) What are minimal ordering amounts; 6) Computer systems available (online ordering); 7) Additional healthcare services (example: HAACP menus, recipes, nutrition analysis software); 8) In-service (example: infection control, food safety); 9) Additional services during a disaster (such as a refrigerator portable unit); 10) What type of training is offered to staff (example HACCP training); 11) How are manufacture incentives handled; 12) Does your company offer food shows and; 13) The Government requests that the food items listed remain unchanged and needs to know the pricing for the items per quantity size. The survey will improve the understanding of the Government?s requirement and industry capabilities and allow the Government to obtain quality supplies and services at reasonable prices. Information provided by any vendor in response to this Request for Information shall not be disclosed if doing so would reveal the vendor?s confidential information and will be protected under FAR 3.104. Those vendors desiring to submit responses to this Request for Information should be received no later than February 14, 2006. Any and all proprietary and restricted information provided should be clearly marked.
