Description
Wackenhut Services Inc. (WSI) operates the National Training Center under prime contract to the U.S. Department of Energy. The Department of Energy has tasked WSI to upgrade the LFR Annex. WSI is seeking interested vendors with the following expertise or ability to obtain the following: 1. Ability to establish and follow a safety plan; 2. Use of ground moving and other construction equipment; 3. Construction site preparation to include soil testing, soil compaction, earthwork (clearing, removal, transportation, disposal, compaction, leveling); 4. Trenching, backfilling and water drainage systems; 5. Using conex shipping containers as construction materials for building the desired shoot-house to the required specification, including anchoring and cabling and framing the conex containers into a solid structure; 6. Installation of required stairwells, floor trusses, roofing trusses and roofing materials; 7. Fabrication of roofing materials adn roof hatches; 8. Electrical expertise for wiring electrical power systems to and in the construction projects and buildings. The expertise must extend to the wiring of interior and exterior electrical lighting systems and power outlets for equipment; 9. Wiring of fire and security alarm panels and sensing technologies; 10. Wiring and installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems; 11. Metal and PVC piping and conduits; 12. Installation of equipment racks, operations consoles, and the specified electronic equipment into consoles and racks; 13. The pouring of concrete foundations, slabs, and concrete testing; 14. Welding and carpentry; 15. Painting metal, plastic and wood surfaces; 16. Construction of chain link fencing to meet DOE standards (DOE M 470.4-2, Chapter 1x-2a); 17. Gravelling and asphalt paving; and 18. Cental Alarm Station (CAS) Argus console Interested vendors must submitt adequate documentation to ensure the WSI review committee of the ability to meet above requirements. Only technically qualified vendors will be included on bidders list. Technically qualified vendors will be invited to a site visit. Site visit is scheduled for (TBD)--hopefully early to mid March 2006.
