- Description
- The VA Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri, has a requirement for the maintenance and grave excavation for the Alton National Cemetery, and the North Alton Confederate Cemetery, Alton, IL.. Both sites are administered by the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment required for interment of casketed and cremated remains, cleaning of headstones, setting and replacement of headstones, fertilizing, overseeding, dethatching, aerating, mowing, trimming, edging, grounds clean up, snow and ice removal and placement of flags (this list is not all inclusive, but rather a sampling of the work to be performed) for the Alton National Cemetery and North Alton Confederate Cemetery. National cemeteries are national shrines. The standards of maintenance and appearance for these cemeteries shall reflect the dedication and respect afforded by this nation's concern for those interred there. To fulfill this mission, strict adherence to the specifications shall be required. The contract will be for a base period with the option to extend four (4) additional years.
