- On September 8, 2005, the Federal Highway Administration conducted a pre-show of this project. At that time, it was anticipated that this project would be advertised in January 2006. The intent of this notice is to inform the contracting community of the delay in the advertisement of this project. Due to budget constraints, and rearrangement of the Park Service program priorities, it is anticipated that this project advertisement will be delayed until Winter 2006/2007. The scope of work for this project has also changed. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause potential bidders. The project scope has changed as follows: Estimated cost Range of the project is >$5,000,000.00. The project consists of rehabilitation and resurfacing on approximately 14+/- kilometers of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. Several slump and rock armor repairs near the high point of the road are also included. Principal work items on this project include: Mobilitation; contractor testing; 20,000 cubic meters of subexcavation; 24,000 square meters of biaxial geogrid; 23,000 metric tons of superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 100,000 square meters of asphalt pavement milling; 100,000 square meters of foamed asphalt stabilized base course; 13,500 square meters of geocomposite capillary break system; and traffic control.
