Description
The Government is seeking to procure an Enhanced AN/TPQ-36 (EQ-36) radar, which is an enhancement of the aging AN/TPQ-36(V) 8 target acquisition counter fire radar system. The EQ-36 System will provide improved operational and physical functionality over the existing AN/TPQ-36(V) 8 radar system with a smaller footprint than the existing AN/TPQ-37 radar system. The enhanced capabilities will provide Warfighters continuous and responsive counter-battery target acquisition for all types and phases of mi litary operations. It will detect in-flight projectiles and determine and communicate firing point location of mortars, artillery, rockets and missiles. Additionally, it will be deployable and capable of operation in varying terrain and climatic conditio ns. The EQ-36 System shall provide increased capabilities over the existing AN/TPQ-36V(8) radar system, including 360 degree azimuth coverage against all threats at increased ranges, enhanced human machine interface, ease of programmability, and built-in capacity for future growth. The system will accurately locate and classify hostile weapon locations at greater ranges and coverage pattern to permit more effective detection and counter-battery. The Government is planning to procure the EQ-36 under a Fixed Price Incentive Fee (FPIF) contract for 5 Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) systems. Monetary incentive will be given for accelerated delivery of the first two systems. There will also be a Ti me and Materials (T&M) line item for engineering services and miscellaneous support. There will be fixed price Incentive options for LRIP 2 (consisting of 8 systems) and Increment 2 Non Recurring Engineering (NRE) effort. Firm Fixed Price Full Rate Produc tion (up to an additional 172 systems), refurbishment of test articles, retrofit of Increment 1 systems, training devices and support, LRIP fielding support, spares for testing and fielding, Interim Contractor Support, and Performance Based Logistics (PBL) . With all options, the term of this contract will be 10 years.
