- The Department of Air Force is seeking qualified entities for a housing privatization project at Andrews Air Force Base and MacDill Air Force Base (Air Mobility Command (AMC) East Group Military Housing Privatization Initiative). The project provides a unique opportunity for top quality firms to assist in the development, operation, and financing of this family housing privatization effort. Specifically, the Air Force is seeking qualified entities to own, renovate, construct, operate, and maintain 1,375 Family Housing Units for the benefit of military families for at least 50 years. The Government?s goal is to provide military families access to safe, secure, quality, affordable, well-maintained housing in a community where they will choose to live. An Industry Forum will be conducted on March 7 ? 8, 2006. The purpose of the Industry Forum is to provide the real estate community (e.g. developers, construction managers, property managers, and architects) pertinent information on the project concept and Request for Proposal (RFP). A corresponding Statement of Need is expected to be released in March 2006. To register for this forum, please visit http://www.jllpsc.com/. A base housing tour for Andrews Air Force Base will be conducted during the Industry Forum. A base housing tour for MacDill Air Force Base will be conducted on approximately March 15, 2006. The purpose of the base housing tours is to provide the real estate community the opportunity to view existing housing communities, existing infrastructure, and the condition of housing units.
