- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition and Materiel Management, Subsistence Prime Vendor Program is releasing a draft solicitation (Call Mrs. Jeanne Myscofski at (708)786-5231 for copies of the Draft Solicitation and Attachments) for a national prime vendor contract for the purchase and distribution of subsistence commodities and ancillary supplies for all 157 VA Healthcare facilities and Other Government Agencies (OGAs). Awarded contract is estimated to be $135M per year and will be for a base year with four option years. This draft is released for review and to solicit comments from the foodservice distribution community. The VA is looking for creative, innovative contracting strategies for this and future subsistence solicitations. A pre-proposal conference for all potential vendors will be held Friday, February 24, 2006 10am-1pm at the VA National Acquisition Center (NAC), Hines, IL. This conference will be an open discussion format; reviewing the particulars of the draft contract, answering questions, discussing new or alternate suggestions for contract terms or performance work statements, and clarifying scope and customer base. Pre-registration for this conference is required. Subsequent to the all vendor conference, individual vendor conferences can be scheduled with VA if desired. Comments or questions about this draft contract can also be emailed. It is NOT for individual food products, supplies, or equipment. Directions to Conference: VA National Acquisition Center First Avenue, One Block North of Cermak Road Hines, IL 60141 The VA NAC is located in Building 37 on the Edward Hines, Jr., VA Hospital complex at Hines, Illinois. Hines is not a town, but a federal reservation (Post Office) so you may not find it on a map but it is adjacent to Maywood and Brookfield, Illinois. The complex is located approximately 11 miles west of the Chicago Loop. The most direct route to the NAC is via the Eisenhower Expressway (Route 290) to First Avenue (South). >From O'Hare Airport, take Route 294 South to the Eisenhower Expressway (Route 290 toward Chicago) to First Avenue (South). Go south on First Avenue approximately 6-1/2 blocks (three stoplights) and turn right at the gate just after the flagpoles. ( If you cross railroad tracks, you have gone too far. ) The NAC is the warehouse looking building to your right as you drive through gate. Limited parking is available in front of the building or to your left as you pass through gate or further West in back of building. Entrance door is on First Avenue side of building at the flagpoles. Security personnel at the door will check your registration, have you sign-in, and direct you to the meeting room.
