Description
SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE FEDTEDS WEBSITE (www.fedteds.gov). Solicitation will be issued on or about March 16, 2006. Work is to be performed at four powerhouses on the Snake River (Ice Harbor, Lower Monument al, Little Goose and Lower Granite Dams) in Washington and at Dworshak Dam powerhouse on the North Fork Clearwater River in Idaho. Each of the Snake River powerhouses has six generator units and Dworshak Dam has three generator units. The work requires r eplacing the existing high pressure carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems (850 psi) to supervised low pressure systems (300 psi) and improve the fire safety equipment, and to provide new water mist systems at the powerhouses. The following list is a g eneral summary of the work: (a) Furnish and install new low pressure C02 fire protection systems for the generators to replace the existing high pressure CO2 fire protection systems. (b) Furnish and install new fine water mist fire protection systems for oil storage rooms, oil purification rooms, paint storage rooms and main unit transformer vaults. (c) Remove and dispose of existing high pressure CO2 equipment that will not be reused. (d) Remove and dispose of three fish water pumps (Dworshak Project only). (e) Construct new reinforced concrete partition wall with one personnel steel door and frame (Dworshak Project only). (f) Provide safety barriers, repair concrete deck, and perform minor concrete work. (g) Perform training of Government employees. (h) Minor concrete and grout work for miscellaneous equipment mounting and anchoring. (i) Miscellaneous painting. ADMIN INFO: The estimated cost range for this job is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 1629 and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990. Solicitation is UNRESTRICTED. If you are a large business and your proposal will exceed $1,000,000, you will be required to submit a subcontracting plan with goals for small business (SB), historically underutilized business zone (HUBZone), small disadvantaged business (SDB), woman-own ed small business (WOSB), veteran-owned small business (VOSB), and service disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) concerns.
