- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to award a firm fixed price order to Trane under GSA Contract number GS-07F-0248K. The Contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, sub-contractors, and project management required to remove existing chiller unit and install a Trane RTWA125 chiller with a capacity of 137.80 tons at NIST Boulder, CO. The project scope includes: Replacing existing chiller with a Trane RTWA125 chiller. Capacity 137.80 tons Replace existing cooling tower with a Marley Aqua cooling tower. Tower to be reassembled and install where existing tower is located. Replace existing chilled and condenser water pumps with Peerless vertical pumps. Replace condenser water tank. Sub-contractor for required automation programming and commissioning to Johnson Control automation system. Trane temporary 100 ton air-cooled chiller during the duration of project. (Approx. 2 months) Required piping modification to facilitate chiller replacement. Includes required sub-contractors for - insulation, welding, and electrical modification. Sub-contractor for required rigging and crane service. Includes: Danfoss Graham variable frequency drives for cooling tower and condenser water pumps. 1st year extended labor warranty. 2nd through 5th year rotary compressor warranty Startup and operational checkout. This project contains the following ?open market? items as part of the order: Edwards Condenser Water Tank includes freight 1 Marley Cooling Tower includes freight 1 Peerless Chiller Water Pumps includes freight 2 Peerless Condenser Water Pumps includes freight 2 Trane materials, pipe fittings, valves, etc. 1 Danfoss Graham Variable Frequency Drives includes freight 3 The proposed requirement is for supplies and services that the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The sole source procurement also meets the criteria of FAR 8.4 for the use of Federal Supply Schedules. This is a total package award and in accordance with FAR 8.402(f) items can be included that are not on the GSA schedule provided appropriate notice is provided. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received by January 30, 2006 will be considered by the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A request for proposal (RFP) package is not available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
