- NAICS Code: 811310 In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106-1(b), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks to award on a sole source basis to JEOL USA, Inc., of Peabody, MA, for the purchase of preventive maintenance services for JOEL Jem 1200 EX Electron Microscope and JSM 5800 LV Scanning Microscope for the period of one year from award date. The US EPA, National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL) located in Cincinnati, OH, needs the preventive maintenance services for the two microscopes addressed above. EPA market research indicates that JEOL is uniquely qualified to perform these services as the manufacturer and only source that has access to the engineering and electronic specifications to ensure accurate operations of the equipment. This notice is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who feel that they possess a product that can meet the requirements above can submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with the specifications. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Please send your documentation to Angela Schopler at the office identified above, by fax (513)487-2109 or by e-mail at schopler.angela@epa.gov, which establishes that your specifications or qualifications meet the EPA's requirement. Documentation must be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by the EPA. Phone requests will not be honored. A determination by the EPA not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
